Sky1 - Post-Apocalyptic Thriller Ebook Review

I have always been a fan of thriller books and post apocalyptic books so I was really excited to have the chance to read and review this Ebook from William Amerman. Sky1 - Foundation by William Amerman was a thrilling read right from the get go. Sometimes it takes a minute for these types of books to get started and get good but not this book, it kept my attention right from the first page.

This is the first book in the Sky series, after reading this one I can't wait to read the rest. Below is the description from the Amazon product page. I didn't want to change it too much because I feel this gives a fantastic look into what this book is about.

"Seven hundred years ago, a city walled itself off from the rest of earth's inhabitants. Decades after first containment, this city named N. Aarde expanded upward, becoming a world unto itself. The population of this city-world has boomed to over eighty million people, but the history of why the world was built and what lies in the exo-world has been lost. This world is Nick's world.
When a quarantine is imposed on Nick's Ground, he and his family are trapped. Rumors spread that quarantines on some Grounds are not being lifted, the affected people never heard from again. The only way out is to break laws that carry a penalty of death. Fearing for the safety of his family, Nick joins forces with a local group to break out.

But can he trust anyone when the stakes are so high?

Welcome to Book 1 of the Sky series. What happens when a subset of the human race splinters from the rest of us, sealing themselves off for over one hundred and twenty generations? Who thrives? Who suffers? With such limited space and resources, how is peace maintained? Can it be maintained? Why do the people of higher Grounds live in luxury compared to the packed masses of the lower Grounds?

The next five books (three written and two to come) in the Sky series tell the story of Nicholas Burke, a journalist from Ground 134. His world is changing, both inside and outside the walls of N. Aarde. Detected by only a few people, the air in the exo-world is cooling. Water levels are receding, uncovering artifacts of a civilization ruined hundreds of years ago. And perhaps most troubling of all, centuries of isolation is about to come to an end. One whispered word, spoken through trembling lips, alerts the new chairmen of the World Defense Committee: Contact!"

The author really shows his talent in the writing of this book, he knows what the readers want and he delivers flawlessly.
