Five Layer Charcoal Bamboo Diaper Inserts With Gussets Review

I have been using cloth diapers for about 2 almost 3 years now and I have had my fair share of trying the different types that are out there. We began by using a cheaper brand of pockets with microfiber inserts which was nice and worked for a year and a half for us, then I decided to try something new. I got some AIO (all in one) diapers and loved them as well, so I sold off all the pockets and bought all new all in ones. This was fabulous until we decided to go on the road and I realized that the all in ones took FOREVER to dry and that just wouldn't cut it. This led me to using BumGenius Flips which have been a wonderful investment, I wish I would have used them from the get go.

At first I was using the prefolds or flats as inserts then I was offered a chance to try the charcoal bamboo inserts with gussets. I wasn't sure about these at first because they are much thinner than the prefolds I currently use, but what the hay I gave them a shot. They are now my favorite thing to use for inserts.

The bamboo is hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial which means it's very good for your baby's skin and very good to use to keep rashes at bay. The charcoal bamboo can go right against baby's skin, unlike microfiber which can cause harm by drying the skin out too much. The product page on these inserts claims they can hold up to 8 full ounces of liquid, although I have never personally measured how much liquid I get out I can say that I have worn these on my little guy over night before. He sleeps from about 9pm til about 7am and we had absolutely NO leaks! (Mom win right there!)

I like the fact that this are not as bulky as my old prefolds, so Maverick can wear the actual size pants he should without the bum looking tight and uncomfortable, not to mention he can walk normally. Sometimes bulky diapers can be a pain but with most diapers if you want them to be absorbent you need more layers, but that is simply not true when you use the charcoal bamboo.

If you want to give charcoal bamboo a try you can get a pack of 10 from Amazon for only $19.99!

  1. So you feel like the gusseted version doesn't fill the cover as well? I would also like to try these, I think they would be great for a lil baby who's on the move. I keep hearing great things about bamboo/charcoal inserts!
