Let me begin by saying this was a total Ryan pick to review. He has a thing for copper, so you will be getting his thoughts on this product as well as mine. I was the lucky one at home when it arrived so I got to try it out first. Hehe Enjoy!
Upon arriving the mug was packaged well to ensure safe arrival. I unpackaged it and washed it in hot soapy water before using it. I had Pepsi in it first and I will say the mug kept my Pepsi ice cold, in fact I never use ice in my drinks and this mug still was "sweating" with condensation from the coldness of my drink. The mug itself is really nice to look at, I love the little dimples it gives the mug so much character. When I was about half way through my drink though I noticed a really bad "metal" or "copper" taste with each drink, in fact it kept getting worse as I drank more, by time I got to the last drink I gagged on the metal taste, it was awful. I also noticed that the Pepsi discolored the bottom of the mug itself. I am guessing that is from the chemical ingredients found in soda and the acidity of the soda as well. I actually do not use this mug anymore, instead I stick to my stainless steel cups.
And as promised here is Ryan's review.
This kept my drinks really cold without the need for ice, I don't know what metal/copper taste she was talking about but I didn't have anything like that. It's a nice mug and a great size at 16 ounces. Overall very happy.
