Becoming An Adoptive Mother To A Kitten

Tuesday, September 1, 2015 was a life changing day for me, little did I know I would soon become the adoptive mother to 3 little kittens, who worn born either Sunday or early Monday (08/30-08/31). After hearing crying coming from under a bush in the yard I ended up finding 3 baby kittens, a black, a gray, and a tiger stripped. They were adorable, with no sign of mom I took them inside with me.

Well, in the end two of the kittens (the black and gray) ended up having to be put down due to being infested with maggots. Poor little guys were so sick, but now they are in Heaven and are happy and safe again. The tiger strip lucky did not contract the maggot infestation, I have no clue how he managed to stay safe from those devil bugs but by the grace of God he did.

Today, our little miracle kitten is about 8 days old give or take a day. He really has come a long way since birth, although his eyes are still closed, his ears semi closed and his umbilical stump is still attached he can walk alone, with the help of his arrow like tail. When you set him down on the ground he will meow and cry out because he is alone, then he will circle around until he finds the scent he wants and head right for it. Still a little shaky in the legs but progressing nicely. He weighs a little over 4 ounces now, and continues to grow daily.

I will post updates here and there to keep you guys up to date on all he is doing, the kids are in love and I admit this face is hard not to love. He is just the sweetest little thing and he loves his belly rubbed, especially after a feeding. Please stay tuned if you want to follow his progress.
