1. Make a list including what you want to accomplish on the daily as in what you want to organize, what you want to declutter and those kinds of things. Assign tasks for every day of week and make sure to cross off every chore you included.

2. Don't wait till “laundry day”. Letting dirty clothes pile up can result in spending your weekend by the washing machine. As a matter of fact, tossing all the clothes into the machine is a breeze. What makes it difficult and burdensome is when you have to peg out or fold a whole mountain of clean clothes. We don't know about you but folding socks seems to be the most mundane tasks of all! So don't put off laundering until you run out of clean clothes; instead do it as soon as you have enough clothes to run a full load.

3. Likewise, don't leave a mountain of dirty dishes in the sink. Make it a habit to wash the dishes after every meal.

4. Don't let today's chores for tomorrow. Translated: do a little something every day. Although many people are tempted to let housework pile up until the day they have set aside to actually clean – for most of them it's Sunday – we don't recommend you postpone cleaning for too long because that way you will have to take an entire weekend and dedicate it to housework rather than enjoying your free time. If doing a little something every day is just not your thing, don't throw in the towel yet. Just give us a try. Dedicate 10-15 minutes to cleaning and decluttering before you go to bed and see if it works out in the end.

5. Keep some areas clean at all times. This will minimize your time on decluttering and organizing. It's best to have a couple of rooms to clean than the whole house.

6. Do one thing at a time. Don't try to cook, wash the dishes and dust at the same time. You risk creating a bigger mess. Plus, your food might burn while you are trying to get grease off a plate.

7. Focus on the essentials. Target the areas that receive the most traffic on a daily basis. That way you will keep them from getting really dirty and out of control. One of the things that can get pretty nasty is your toilet. You might want to give it a good brush weekly to keep it good-looking and germ-free. Your kitchen surfaces need disinfecting on a day-to-day basis. The carpet in your living room should be vacuumed regularly.

8. Do it now. You see a cobweb on the ceiling but your favorite TV program has just began and you are too lazy to do anything but watch. Don't say you are going to remove it tomorrow, do it now. It just takes a few seconds.

9. Use the right products. Some areas of your home can be cleaned with natural homemade cleaners, for example your bedroom, living areas and kitchen. You might want to use stronger disinfectants on your bathroom surfaces.

10. Have one welcome mat outside your door and another one inside to keep dirt and mud from finding their way onto your floors. Ask family members to take off their shoes upon entering the premises.

You have probably discovered that when your house is in order, everything in your life seems to be much better. Try to follow these little tips by cleaners in Tooting to have a sparkling home.
