My kids have been really into our family dinner devotional, in fact the four year old always asks to do the devotional when either daddy or I forget about it. She loves to say the dinner prayer as well, so this book "My Little Prayers" was a must have for our family.
This book arrived quickly and soon became a favorite for reading, while the kids might not understand what prayer is or how important those prayers are, they do enjoy sitting down with one of us and reading this book. We have been reading it at least once a day and while the kids see it as a story I see it as preparing them to learn prayers and how to pray daily, which I know is something we all struggle with. I personally never have time, actually I never make time to pray and I need to change this.
The other day I saw my four year old sitting with the two year old and 3 month old and she was "reading" this book to them. No, she can't read but she was certainly telling her little brothers all about Jesus. I don't think there is ever a time when a child is too young to hear prayers or stories or about Jesus, while they might not understand your words it has been studied that just reading to children can be beneficial.
This book is written with prayers that are easy to read and are quick to read, so if you have a child with a short attention span you can get through at least one prayer. The pictures are adorable and well made as well. Overall, I am completely pleased with this book and would recommend it to anyone with children.
